The Toronto Police Service has announced an arrest in connection with a sexual assault investigation. The incident occurred in the Jane Street and Trethewey Drive area.
According to police reports, on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a victim requested a ride through a ride-share application. The victim was picked up by the suspect, who allegedly exposed his genitals and sexually assaulted the victim. The victim managed to exit the vehicle and promptly contacted the police.

The suspect, identified as Rajwinder Bhangu, 27, of Brampton, turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. He has been charged with indecent acts and sexual assault. Bhangu was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at 10 Armoury Street on Thursday, May 9, 2024, in room 107.
Police believe there may be additional victims. An image of the suspect has been released to aid in the investigation.
