According to the OPP, the cache of weapons included handguns, shotguns, and rifles, some of which were loaded and a few reported stolen. Photos provided by the police show the firearms meticulously laid out on a concrete floor and across an old mattress, with one striking image of a revolver hidden in a vehicle’s glove compartment.

In a significant operation, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested four individuals and filed over 500 charges after a major raid in Tyendinaga Township on May 24, 2024. The police seized nearly 100 firearms and a large quantity of drugs from a residence on Thrasher Road.

The raid also uncovered approximately 200 grams of suspected cocaine, more than a kilogram of suspected methamphetamine, and roughly 2,000 grams of suspected MDMA. Additional items seized included heroin, psilocybin, a large quantity of pills, ammunition, Canadian currency, and various materials associated with drug trafficking.

The operation was a collaborative effort involving officers from two area detachments and three specialized OPP teams, including the canine unit and the East Region Tactics and Rescue unit. This coordinated effort led to the extensive search and successful seizure at the targeted location.

The four individuals arrested now face a total of 508 criminal charges. These include 100 counts of possession of a firearm without a license, 68 counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and multiple counts of possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, and other drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

This large-scale operation highlights the OPP’s dedication to combating illegal firearms and drug trafficking, ensuring the safety and security of the community. The extensive list of charges signifies the gravity of the offenses and the thoroughness of the police investigation.
